Monsignor Larry Droll
I was named pastor of St. Ann's Catholic Parish in Midland in 2004. It has been a great blessing to serve the wonderful people of Midland and the surrounding area.
My parents were farming east of San Angelo, where I was born in St. John's Hospital. Our family moved to the Rowena area when I was in the first grade; that's when I began to attend St. Joseph's Catholic School.
Relatives who were priests and sisters, as well as those in the parish and school, had a strong influence in my desire to become a priest. There was always an atmosphere of prayer and involvement in the parish in our family, which supported that vocation.
After attending seminaries in San Antonio, Texas and Collegeville, Minnesota, I was ordained a priest on June 15, 1973. I have served in three San Angelo parishes, in Ozona and in Wall, as a parish priest.
I have also served in the administration of the Diocese of San Angelo as Vocation Director, Chancellor and now Vicar General. These ministries have given me a sense of the larger church, beyond the parish and diocese.
I am grateful to God for the vocation of priesthood and pray that I can serve the People of God well in this vocation.

Fr. Ricardo Lopez
I am Fr. Ricardo Lopez. I was born in Odessa, but moved with my family to
Midland at the age of 5. We were parishioners of Our Lady of San Juan, now San Miguel
Church. I attended South Elementary and then went on to Goddard Junior High and
finally to Midland High School where I graduated in the year 2000.
After graduation, I decided to enter the seminary with the Missionary Oblates of
Mary Immaculate. Upon entering the Oblates, I moved to Miami for my Undergraduate
degree in Philosophy. After Miami, I was sent to Novitiate in Godfrey, Illinois, just
across the Mississippi River from St. Louis, Missouri. I professed my first vows on 1
August 2005, and was then sent to San Antonio where I studied Theology. I graduated
from there in 2010.
In my journey from seminarian to priest, I have had the privilege to work with
people from all over the world. I have also had the opportunity to minister in Zambia,
Bolivia, and Mexico as well as Miami, Los Angeles, San Diego, Houston, and many
other places. I was ordained as a priest May 22, 2010.
As of October of 2011, I have petitioned to become a member of the Diocese of
San Angelo. I am happy to be serving at St. Ann’s parish and look forward to continuing
to develop this call to the priesthood that God has gifted me with.
